Dialetical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) emphasizes working on creating a life you want to live.  DBT was originally created by Dr. Marsha Linehan to help people who were suicidal and struggling with self-harm urges.  Treatment has since expanded to help individuals who struggle with intense emotions that can be difficult to control. Through skill development and reinforcement, patients will learn to increase their focus and attention in the moment, get through painful moments, gain control of emotions, and improve relationships. Sessions focus on incorporating skills into daily living to increase overall life satisfaction.  We will focus on validating the difficulties that you face living with intense emotions and encourage your abilities to make changes in your life.

As a practice, we offer a comprehensive Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) program which includes the four essential components: Individual DBT sessions, DBT Skills Training Groups, DBT phone coaching, and DBT consultation team.

Treatment Areas Include:

  •  Problems with anger
  •  Disorder of Eating

  •  Frequent mood swings
  •  Intense fears of abandonment
  •  Impulsive behavior
